Once you have made a decision to get a replacement prosthesis, we suggest you make an appointment to come in and talk about your options. During your appointment, we will take care of any adjustments and/or repairs that are needed and discuss the reason or reasons for your decision to get a replacement. We will talk about all the different components that are available and answer any questions you might have about the process of obtaining a new prosthesis. We can also answer any questions you may have regarding insurance, including Medicare and Medicaid.
While you are in our office, we will take detailed notes regarding your need for a replacement, any problems you have been having with your current prosthesis, as well as making note of your functional level. We have adopted this practice during evaluation appointments in order to provide you with substantial notes that you can take to your doctor for a face-to-face appointment. We will discuss face-to-face physician appointments in more detail in our next blog post.
